Welcome to my soap box.

I call myself Xaya Emeris 🥔, a student research intern in Open-Ended learning. I have been interested in learning the principles behind intelligent behavior of agents from bacteria and slime mold to Transformers and societies. Neuroscience, Machine Learning, Complexity Science and my new obsession Information theory have a lot to say about these principles, and I want to go on a learning journey here exploring them.

Therefore, this blog will serve as a place to shout to the void about how animals and humans flock, what neural networks learn and how it all relates to a butterfly causing a storm. The blog is named Poiasis as a portmanteau of Poiesis from Autopoiesis and Oasis. I hope to learn more about emergence, and have this place for other people to join in this journey.

In case you already ask these questions yourself, I would love to do research with you. Feel free to drop an email xaya-e@proton.me.
